Everyone is invited to attend the wrap up party for the Corner Gas movie this weekend in Rouleau, SK.
For the past month the cast and crew took over the small town filming scenes for the upcoming flick.
However, filming isn't over just quite yet. The crew will be setting up cameras on drones, and some shots from the weekends' Dog River Days festivities just might end up in the film.
Additionally, the cast will be filming their end credits at 4 p.m. in the town, and everyone is welcomed to participate.
An hour before, at 3 p.m., movie actors, Brent Butt and Fred Ewanuick will be signing autographs.
However, Mayor of Rouleu, Grant Clarke teases that more members of the cast could possibly show up.
"Dog River Days is a celebration of the town, of Corner Gas, and the new movie. It's just a weekend where everyone will get together and celebrate, volunteers will contribute, and hopefully everyone will have a lot of fun," said Clarke.
The events started on Friday and continue on all day Saturday and Sunday. There will be two street dances (which will be filmed for the movie), a show and shine, trade show, chill eating contest, and kids activities.
For those not wanting to miss the Roughrider game, big screens will be set up on Saturday playing the game.
"It's going to be a really big weekend. It's exciting to have the cast back."
Clarke says it has been nice having the cast and crew back. During their days filming, people would line up along Main Street to watch the filming in action.
"There was a lapse in there when Corner Gas wasn't around anymore, but we still got a lot of traffic to the town. The movie will rejuvenate the interest here and there will be lots of traffic and spectators for the next few years," said Clarke.
"it was definitely interesting around here for the past few weeks. It's been a great experience and hopefully we can continue to work with them in the future too. Hopefully we can play this out a little longer."
