It is amazing what one person can see and do in 100 years. It is a milestone not reached by many, but today Eloise Ritchie and her family will celebrate her 100th birthday and reflect on 100 years of the past. Born July 27, 1913, Ritchie was born into a family of seven and said since those early days on the farm, right through until today, her life has been filled with love, struggle, dreams come true and loss. – July 27, 2013
Gladys Struck of Providence Place turns 91 years old.
The Moose Jaw Fire Department responded to one call for service between 7 a.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday. Lillooet responded to the service call on the 500 block of Home Street West.
The Moose Jaw Police Service responded to 50 calls for service between 7 a.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday, including seven 911 calls, five disputes, three noise complaints, executing two warrants, two cases of unwanted guests, one mischief involving a male youth, one case of threats still under investigation and the theft of a sign on the 800 block of Thatcher Drive East that is also still under investigation.
Police responded to an armed robbery on the 1200 block of Ninth Avenue Northwest. Two individuals with partially covered faces entered a business wielding a firearm demanding cash. There were no injuries, but the suspects left with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police are still investigating the incident.
Also still under investigation is a break and enter at a residence on the 800 block of Main Street North, in which cash and other items were taken.
Two hit and runs – 1200 block of Main Street North and the zero block of Fairford Street East – were reported to police. Both incidents are still under investigation and the combined damage is estimated at $4,500.
