City officials are still working towards trying different methods for
water clarity at the Kinsmen Sportsplex pool.
The closure will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday and it will re-open at 6 a.m. on Thursday. All programs, including the learn-to-swim lessons, will still run as scheduled in the leisure pool. As well, the hot tub and steam room will be available for all normal program hours.
“During this time period, the City of Moose Jaw will be bringing a contractor in to complete an upgrade in the mechanical room which was recommended by Water Technology Inc., the Consultant that reviewed the pool’s mechanical room and clarity issues earlier this year” said Jody Hauta, director of parks and recreation in a city release.
It will help with adding pool chemicals and improving pool water circulation. The upgrade will also help with "overall pool clarity and water chemisty," the release said.
The city encourages the public to use the Phyllis Dewar Outdoor Pool for daily swims from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. up to and including Labour Day on Sept. 1.
