This year's Moose Jaw municipal election has another incumbent candidate.
On Tuesday, Coun. Regina Sagal-Hendry announced her intentions to seek re-election in the upcoming civic election.
"In the upcoming term, I would like to focus on partnering with the provincial and federal governments in order to access money for municipal projects," she said in a media release.
Sagal-Hendry has found the opportunity to serve Moose Jaw, during her current term in office, rewarding.
"It is challenging but I am dedicated and passionate about working for the common good of the people in our city," she said. Although she was sometimes frustrated with the time it took council to reach the goal of building a multiplex facility, she is glad to see construction finally underway.
"This will enable me to move on to other issues and needs within the community."
Sagal-Hendry said the city has recently succeeded in raising money for the wastewater treatment plant, local street improvements and Natatorium improvements, as well as replacing the city's entire bus fleet with over 50 per cent federal money.
She said her second term (if re-elected) would include pressing further for government funding.
"I will continue to press the provincial government for a start-up date for our hospital improvements as part of my effort to make Moose Jaw a healthy community in which to live and raise a family."
Earlier this week, Coun. Mary-Dell Findlay announced she would be running in the autumn election.
This year, Saskatchewan municipal elections are on Oct. 28. City hall will begin accepting candidate nomination sheets on Sept. 14 and will continue to do so until 4 p.m. on Sept. 30.

Seymour - I agree with you on most of your points. The only councillors that should be returned are Swanson and Luhning. They at least had the courage to stand up to the bullies with the penchant for spending other people's money. HRH RSH was issued a rubber stamp by the old boys club and she knew how to use it. Watching her respond to questions was alot like watching Paula Abdul judge American Idol. I'm gonna miss it - but not that much.
