“We need to look to the future. What is (Moose Jaw) going to be in 10 years?” Koch told the Times-Herald on Monday, shortly after handing in his nomination papers to city hall, making him a mayoral candidate in the Oct. 28 civic election.
According to Koch, he wanted to serve the city in an elected capacity ever since returning from Calgary four years ago. He lived away from Moose Jaw for 17 years.
The 45-year-old Moose Jaw Police Service constable said Moose Jaw’s population hasn’t increased much since he was a child and he would like the chance to help expand local industry and encourage new residents into the area, as well as keep current residents from leaving.
