That is one of the reasons why the 50-year-old retired nurse handed in nomination papers at city hall on Monday, making her a councillor candidate in the upcoming Oct. 28 municipal election.
“I’d like to partake in the development of the city,” she told the Times-Herald, adding she first moved to Moose Jaw about three years ago for a job with Five Hills Health Region.
Her career took her elsewhere about 1 1/2 years later, but in June 2008, she decided Moose Jaw was where she wanted to raise her three school-aged children and retire.

“Having seen what else is out there, I think Moose Jaw is a really great place,” she said, adding there is still room for growth in the city.
Also handing in nomination papers on Monday were Scott Maslasz and incumbent candidate Coun. Brian Swanson.
