In order to increase the flow of information between Moose Jaw residents and the City of Moose Jaw, mayoral candidate Karen Anderson Tyers believes a type of ward system might be in order.
While discussing her campaign platform on Thursday, Tyers told the Times-Herald (if elected) she would establish 11 wards in the Friendly City. However, rather than each ward electing its own representative on council, Tyers said each ward would be represented by volunteers within each specific area.

She said there would be a ward leader, a block leader and a youth leader for each ward.

According to Tyers, each of the 11 wards would hold weekly meetings identifying key issues, concerns and needs within the specific area. She said she would attend each of those meetings and relay information from those meetings back to city council.
