So from that $700,000 after taxes you took home 50 or 60 thousand dollars each year for 5 years. Yawn.

Once a rig pig always a rig pig. If you are that great, what the he.. are you doing in this hole? Your type of gloting is what this city is made of, go back to the coke, better still get off it.

oh boy another rig piggie with grade 8 bragging about how much "dough" he earned. Must be one of the few that didn't blow it all on cocaine and young street girls.

Religion is dangerous because it allows human beings who don't have all the answers to think that they do. Most people would think it's wonderful when someone says, 'I'm willing Lord, I'll do whatever you want me to do.' Except that since there are no gods actually talking to us, that void is filled in by people with their own corruptions and limitations and agendas.

Notice how all the bums and scrapes in Moose Jaw hate McBain and what he has done for Moose Jaw, and all the WORKING class people that are excited by progress love him? Wierd.

I wouldn't say that I am a bum or scraps. I work more hours in a week than most in this city work in a month. I also earned a high six figure salary that I made in the oil patch and spent a lot of here in the Friendly City. In five years I earned close to $700,000 before taxes what did you earn??? I know many people in Fort Mac that would have some very derogatory words for you and your ilk. I do not care about the taxes because the Bible tells me it is what I must do. But when I see seniors and those on a fixed income struggle to make ends meet facing what was to be and could still very well be a highly unfair tax increase a person has to speak out. I also know that as a Christian the Bible tells me to try to help the poor and if speaking out helps it is what I fully intend to do. I do not care if my taxes go up I can easily afford them, but I certainly do care if the taxes of the little people who saved and scrimped to buy a house and maintain it are financially distressed by a small group all consumed with their self-serving greed and avarice. If you wish to call me a bum I will gladly bear the label knowing I did the right thing.

Sam, you shouldn't really speak of Mc/drain that way, yes I guess he is pathetic, and negative. Also a crook, sorry you missed that!

Hay Hay Goodbye and good ridence!!! 3 years to late. Worst mayor on record, go happy dance around the multimess, you have disgraced this city. You and Chow, I hope when the true environmental study comes out, you are still around to pay the price!

I love Dale, he's a great story teller and a funny, funny man. I believe his life would have been richer if he had stayed out of municipal politics though. As much as I love him, and I'd never say this to his face, he's just not cut out to lead. Getting out of politics was the greatest decision he's made in 9 years. For the status quo, it is true that people are satisfied with it and will probably vote the same way every time. It is just to bad that our status quo is population decline, job decline, tax revenue decline, school enrollment decline and industry decline. The people of Moose Jaw seem to be happy with constant decline and then telling themselves we are booming. Go figure. Some people like the dream world.

Saddled this city with an insurmountable debt load and a yet to be seen operating budget increase like no other. Along with causing the greatest riff this city has ever seen. This day could not have come soon enough. Too bad those that follow will be burdened with cleaning up the mess.

Re Cindy - I don't plan to vote for him but I'm fairly confident Glen will win the mayor seat. The majority of people are comfortable with the status quo Hagel will bring to the table. He's just a bag of air. I think I challenged one of his supporters on here to name his personal accomplishments in 21 years as an MLA - I'm still waiting for a response on that...?

The amount of damage this man has done with the rest of the Fab Five will take years for the new council to sort out. Clifford if you think we are going to elect Glen to keep this going that is the problem we need to stop and stop now!

You blame Dale for the problems at XL Beef? I don't think the mayor is that powerful and can control the beef business. The multiplex will enhance our communty for years to come as the Civic Centre has done. This council has had it's problems and it stems from 2 councillors that have no vision for our city.

I certainly enjoyed working with you at the City Mayors meetings Dale. You always expressed your views with respect and conviction. You represented your city very well and you were a strong supporter of our great province. Well done! Best wishes!

This is one of the saddest stories this year. We all figured the McBain days would never end but it is sad to say all good things must come to a end. What are we going to do??? I feel better that you promising Glenn will do a good job just like you does makes me feel a little better but can Glenn do the multiplex jig like you? Sad to see you go Dale and hopefully people quit blaming you soon for all the multiplex mess!
Mayor Dale McBain

I am not a rig pig. I hold a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. My wife is also a mechanical engineer as were both of her parents. I think we are the kind of people this city is trying to attract. we could easily live elsewhere it is our choice to live here. True, there is a lot of drug use in the oil patch, but there is also plenty of it in this city as well. In the oil patch I send people home who are stoned and hopefully into treatment. You can believe what you like it is allowable, but I can tell you from my own perspective it would have been better to spend the money on a new hospital that creates a lot of good paying jobs and attracts residents...much better than $10 flipping burgers for a few hours a couple of times a week.
