Fully expecting Parliament to come tumbling down resulting in an election call in the next few weeks, Bloc Quebecois boss Gilles Duceppe rolled out a series of ads earlier this week attacking both Conservative Leader Stephen Harper and Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff.
One of the ad states, “Two parties, one opinion.”
Specifically, Duceppe is calling the two parties similar in one area.
“In reality, the Liberal leader has the same position as Stephen Harper regarding everything that’s essential for Quebec,” Duceppe told a press conference on Tuesday.
But let’s take it a step further. He may be on to something when you look at the Liberal and Conservative leaders on the whole, nationwide.
Yes, a person can’t claim the two leaders are exactly identical but there are certainly a good deal of similarities, a lot more than there were between Harper and former Liberal boss Stephane Dion.
Ignatieff, Harper not all that diffferent
We don’t even have an election called yet and already Gilles Duceppe is proving why he may very well be the best strategist among Canada’s major federal party leaders.
