Siera Bearchall

Congratulations to Moose Jaw’s Siera Bearchell. The Moose Jaw teen was second runner-up in the Miss Teen World competition.
That’s a huge honour and something Bearchell should be proud to have attained. She went up against some pretty good competition from all over the world and managed to win both the most photogenic and swimsuit competitions on her way to a top three finish.
While some people diminish the importance of pageants, Bearchell, through her title as Miss Teen World Canada will travel to a Third World country where she will do volunteer work with children. When other teens do volunteer work, we usually praise them to the limit. Bearchell  should be no different.
Through the various competitions to get to the world finals, Bearchell carried a message of fire safety and community caring — a critical and flattering message about our community.
Her accomplishments should not be lost in her beauty. She used the contest to deliver her message and will now use it to help children in a poor country.
How can anyone find fault in that?
For her personally, it was an amazing adventure and a chance to travel and meet people from all over the world. She made the best of an opportunity and for that she deserves praise.
