Team Canada is in the gold medal game at the World Junior Hockey Championships. And the sun will rise tomorrow.
We would have been surprised if Canada didn’t make it to the gold medal game, especially after such a huge start.
It used to be considered Canada’s game. But the upstart Americans have been pushing their skills and are now maybe even more feared than the Soviets. And let’s face it, Team Canada won’t always be in the gold medal game.
But this year we can still savour the moment. The only close call was with Team USA — tonight’s opponent.
The excitement of being in the gold medal game is tempered a bit for Warrior fans as the team’s only player to make the national team, Travis Hamonic suffered a separated shoulder and will be out of action for six to eight weeks.
Regardless, a gold medal will still hang from his neck if the Canadians pull it off tonight.
