We are just coming off a season of giving and people are being asked to dig deep again to help people in another country.
An earthquake has left the people of Haiti in a desperate situation and in need of help from people all over the world.
It’s so much easier to relate to people in our own community when the time comes to make a donation. But sometimes that’s not an option for the people who need help. Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world.
The Salvation Army and Red Cross are both taking donations locally and every penny counts for these people. Donations in this case can mean the difference between life and death.
Such disasters are a chance to teach our children the meaning of caring and sharing on a global scale.
