While Moose Jaw’s name is well known thanks to its uniqueness, it never hurts to get the city’s name out even more and that’s where you come in.
Currently, Hasbro is conducting a contest to determine the 22 cities that will be the different properties on the latest version of Monopoly Canada. Because of its size, Moose Jaw is not in the running to be one of the top 20 cities but thanks to the wild card competition, it can appear in one of the first two spots traditionally known as Mediterrean and Baltic Avenues.
To make it to one of those two spots, Moose Jaw must be one of the top 10 nominated wild card cities when the nomination period ends on Feb. 7.
As of Wednesday, Moose Jaw was in sixth place, a good spot to advance to the final round. If it does make it to the final two-week round of voting, which begins Feb. 8 and ends on Feb. 21, then it will need to finish in the top two to be on the board.
As was proven with Joe’s Place during the Aviva Community Fund contest, Moose Javians are able to get the city recognized through online voting and hopefully this can be done again at monopolyvote.ca.
This would be another feather in this city’s cap and it would be a neat honour for Moose Jaw. So get on your computer between now and Feb. 21 and make sure to cast your vote as many times as possible.
