The season of festivals is well underway in Moose Jaw, bringing visitors to the city and enticing residents out of their winter shelters.
The Moose Jaw Music Festival and the annual invitational dance carnival have already made their marks on the city, with successful events recorded in both instances.
They pave the way for the annual Fesitval of Dance starting this week and the Kinsmen International Band and Choral Festival and the Cankerworm Festival in May; Sidewalk Days and the Hometown Fair in June; Canada Day, Motif, Festival of Words, Fiddlers’ Jamboree and Country Gospel Festival in July; and Prairie Arts Festival in August — plus all the other events organized for the enjoyment of the community.
There is no shortage of activities planned for Moose Jaw and surrounding areas and thus there should be no whining about having nothing to do on hot summer days and evenings.
Add to the mix all the museums and art galleries, specialty shops, parks, lakes, swimming pools and sporting events throughout the region and it should be a busy and enjoyable summer.
Many of the activities being planned require the involvement of volunteers, another way to pass the time in summer that isn’t spent travelling or relaxing in the backyard.
Spring and summer in Moose Jaw — so much to do, so little time.
