The 18th annual Kinsmen Sports Celebrity Banquet was a great night of entertainment.

While the night was full of laughs, the financial success of the evening will be felt in the community for the rest of the year.

“It was very successful,” Sports Celebrity Dinner Chairman Al Proust. “We don’t know dollar-wise where we’re at, but everybody we talked to had a really good time.”

Master of ceremonies Dick Jonckowski once again had the crowd in stitches and Saskatchewan Roughrider Chris Getzlaf, former Toronto Blue Jay Kelly Gruber and former-Toronto Maple Leaf Wendel Clark were interesting and funny speakers.

The live auction raised nearly $21,000 and that was on top of the silent auction items and the proceeds from ticket sales.

All of the money from the event goes to fund Kinsmen projects in the community like the Kinsmen Flying Fins, Kinsmen Wrestling Club, Kinsmen Minor Football, Kinsmen Sportsplex, Kinsmen International Band and Choral Festival and the Kinsmen Sports Foundation.
