Tickets are sold out for the K+S Potash Canada Kinsmen Celebrity Sports Banquet, which is being held this Saturday at the Heritage Inn.

Headlining the event is Hall of Fame hockey player Ray Bourque and former Toronto Blue Jays manager Cito Gaston and the Rod Black from CTV and TSN will emcee the event.

“It is sold out,” said Kelvin Bradford, chairperson for the event.

The banquet sold out more than 450 seats for the event, as many want a chance to hear Bourque and Gaston speak. The feedback so far has a lot of people excited.

“Tremendous feedback,” said Bradford. “I’m impressed with how many people are excited about Cito. As for Ray, we always knew that everyone would be excited about that one.”

Not only will Bourque and Gaston be speaking at the event, the banquet will also feature a silent and live auction with all the funds raised going to Kinsmen projects and sponsored groups around the community.

“There will be some tremendous auction items,” said Bradford.

Cocktails begin at 5 p.m. and supper will be served at 6:30 p.m.

“I apologize to those who didn’t get a ticket,” said Bradford. “But, also a big thank you to our major sponsors and thank those who purchased (tickets) to make it possible in the community.”

K+S Potash Canada is new this year as a major partner for the 20th Kinsmen banquet.
