Peacock won both team titles at the SHSAA regional wrestling championships in Moose Jaw Saturday.
In addition 17 Moose Jaw wrestlers and one from Assiniboia advanced to provincials.
Peacock won the female team title with 36 points to narrowly edge Prince Albert St. Mary by a point. In the male standings, Peacock’s 59 points was three ahead of Swift Current.
Three Peacock boys won their respective regional titles: Kurtis Busch (44 kg), Devin Kiryk (50 kg) and Ty Nordick (130 kg).
The top four wrestlers in each weight category earned a trip to Regina for the SHSAA provincials.
Vanier’s Kodi Karmarzinuk (130 kg), Peacock’s Keaton Bell (110 kg), Peacock’s Seth Schmaltz (77 kg) and Central’s Peter Ntignee (65 kg) were all second.
Assiniboa’s Taylor Wandler (110 kg) and Peacock’s Spenser Nancarrow (77 kg) each finished third, while Peacock’s T.J. Busch (56 kg) Peacock’s Gavin Wilders (65 kg) and Central’s Seleman Mande (73 kg) all finished fourth to book their places at provincials.
On the girl’s side, Peacock’s Vicki Busch (53 kg), Cassy Busch (56 kg) and Makaliah Marasse (68 kg) each finished second in their categories. Joining them in qualifying for provincials were Cortni Dixon (64 kg) and Mia Nordick (73 kg) from Peacock who both finished third. Peacock’s Rebecca Deptuck-Porter (53 kg) finished fourth to qualify.
