Head coach Chad Romanuk announced that he will be stepping down from his position at the end of the season.

“I really appreciated the opportunity to build into the women’s program here at Briercrest,” Romanuk stated in a release. “It was a joy and honour to serve with the staff in the athletic department. However, due to personal reasons, I am submitting my resignation.”

Romanuk served as an assistant coach for several seasons before taking on the head coach role in the 2011-12 season.

“Chad was worked tirelessly in the building of the program and has put endless amount of time working with the girls,” said Nigel Mullan, athletic director, in a release. “It is rare to see someone with more pride in our school and athletic department and that is something to be respected. I appreciate how much Chad has scarified and given to his job and we will miss his dedication.”

His final day on the job will be Apr. 15, 2014. The search for a new coach will begin immediately.
