Pee Wee Mustangs come up short in box lacrosse action

After a quiet first period, the Moose Jaw Pee Wee Mustangs and the Regina Rebels traded goals quickly in the final two periods Thursday.

Unfortunately for the Mustangs, the Rebels out-gunned them 11-5 in Queen City Minor Box Lacrosse action in Regina.

The Rebels took a 1-0 lead after the first period, but the teams split nine goals in the second period and Regina led 6-4. The Rebels scored less than 30 seconds apart to double their lead and put the game away in the third.

Atley Calvert and Jayden Nash Wilson each scored twice for the Mustangs. Kael Nichols had the other Moose Jaw goal.

Zachary Berardi and Piper Ingalls had assists.

The Mustangs will host the first edition of the newly named Chris Sauder Memorial Pee Wee Box Lacrosse tournament this weekend.
