Novice Mustangs close out season

The Moose Jaw Kinsmen Mustangs had a successful weekend at novice provincials.

The team went 3-1 in Saskatoon to close out their box lacrosse season.

In the first game, the Mustangs defeated the Saskatoon Roughnecks 7-3. Brennan Watterson, Josh Johnson, Kaleb Mercer, Rowan Calvert and Braxton MacAngus scored single goals and Liam Fitzpatrick scored twice.

In the second game, they won 8-3 over the Saskatoon Rock. Fitzpatrick scored twice, as did Calvert. Ethan Johnson, Josh Johnson, Rhett Chute and MacAngus added goals.

In the third game, the Mustangs suffered their only loss to Lloydminster by a 5-2 score. Fitzpatrick had both goals.

In their fourth game, the Mustangs got some redemption as they beat the Regina Swarm, who beat them last weekend in the city final. Moose Jaw doubled up on the Swarm 8-4. Ethan Johnson scored a hat trick as Fitzpatrick and MacAngus scored twice and Calvert also scored.
