The Colts did their damage early and the Hustlers did theirs late.

The end result was the same: both teams won Game 2 of their Moose Jaw Senior Women's Fastball League playoff series. With the Colts and Hustlers completing a two-game series sweep, they will now advance to meet each other in the league final starting Monday.

The Hustlers beat the Heat 10-3 Wednesday, while the Colts defeated the Slammers 9-6.

Hustlers 10 Heat 3

The Hustlers got off to a fast start and scored a pair of runs in the top of the first inning, but the Heat also got off to a fast start and put together an early rally to grab a 3-2 lead.

Hustlers starter Jana Gallant settled in and her team tied the game in the third inning. They scored three runs in the fourth and added four more in the fifth inning to finish off the win.

The top half of the Hustlers order did the most damage. Lead-off hitter Sheri Logan was 3-for-4 with three runs and a double, while Shari Heath was 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Tanya McLean also scored twice and had a pair of hits. Nicole Ansell also drove in two runs for the Hustlers.

Amanda Muhlig and Kimberly Michelson both had two hits at the top of the Heat order. Michelson, Jen Ronald and Bernie Meegan drove in runs for the Heat.

Gallant allowed six hits in her complete game win.

Colts 9 Slammers 6

The Colts scored four runs in the first inning and added three more in the second to take a 7-0 lead.

To their credit, the Slammers didn't go quietly. They got a run back in the third and scored three in the bottom of the fourth to cut the lead to 9-4. They scored twice in the fifth to get to within striking distance, but were blanked in the sixth and seventh innings.

Ali Gallagher and Kim Neithercut were both 3-for-5 at the plate for the Colts. Gallagher scored three runs and Neithercut scored twice and drove in a run. Melanie Hopkinson had a pair of hits and scored twice.

Jasmine Jackman and Caralie Wait each drove in a pair of runs and each had two hits for the Colts.

Penny Barker had a pair of hits, a run, a stolen base and a RBI for the Slammers. Meagan Blalitka scored twice and hit a triple, while Dianna Houle drove in a pair of runs with a double.

Eight different Slammers batters reached base.
