The Colts took a 2-0 series lead in the Senior Ladies Fastball championship final on Tuesday night.

That pushes the Hustlers to the brink in the best-of-five series.

Neithercut struck out six and only gave up one hit over five innings in the Colts 8-0 victory.

The Colts exploded for six runs in the fourth inning and that was enough for the win.

Keri Merkel went 2-for-2 and had 3 RBI for the Colts and Jasmine Jackman also drove in two runs and went 3-for-4 at the plate.

Taylor Logan was the lone Hustlers to get a hit off Neithercut during the game.

Jana Gallant took the loss for the Hustlers, giving up seven runs on eight hits and walked three in just over three innings of work. Taylor Phillips pitched 1 1/3 innings in relief, giving up one run on four hits.

Game 3 will go tonight (6:30 p.m., Caribou Heights), where the Colts will search for back-to-back titles.
