Epoch in U17 bronze medal game

Team Saskatchewan in the under-15 girls division is into the final match.

After beating Quebec 83-68 in the semi-final match on Tuesday, the U15 team is into the final at the national championship in Edmonton, Alta.

Moose Jaw’s Macaela Crone had nine points in the win.

The team has gotten to this stage by going 2-1 in pool play.

On Friday, they opened the tournament with a 78-58 loss to Ontario. Crone had seven points in that game.

On Saturday, Saskatchewan won 95-77 over Nova Scotia and Crone had 14 points and six assists.

On Sunday, Crone had a game high 21 points in the 73-56 win over New Brunswick.

The final will be this afternoon, where Saskatchewan should face British Columbia.

In the U17 division, Team Saskatchewan will fight for bronze later today.

Moose Jaw’s Libby Epoch is co-captain for the team and scored 13 points in the team’s 75-59 semi-final loss to Manitoba on Tuesday.

In the pool play, Sask went 2-0 with wins over New Brunswick and Newfoundland. In the playoffs, they won 84-63 over British Columbia.

They will face Alberta in the bronze medal game.
