The Moose Jaw Miller Express won their Western Major Baseball League season opener with a 9-4 win over the Regina Red Sox in front of a big crowd at Ross Wells Park.
The Express were aggressive on the base paths, stealing six bases.
Jerry Hildreth finished the day 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs. Derek Johnson was 3-for-4 with two runs batted in and a double.
Taylor Elder threw six strong innings for the Express. He allowed six hits and an earned run, while striking out nine batters to earn the win.
Matt Mundfrom took the loss for the Red Sox as he allowed four runs on four hits in 4 1/3 innings.
