Cardinals one win away from the finals

They were underwhelming underdogs heading into the 2010 Midget AAA Provincials this weekend, but the Moose Jaw Cardinals Midget AAA baseball team are one win away from the provincial finals.

However, to get there, they will have to beat the Saskatoon Giants in a must win game. The Giants were one of the favourites heading in and who are playing in their home city. They were 17-3-3 for the best record in the PMBL.

On Saturday, the Cardinals beat the Regina Athletics 15-5 before doubling the Southeast Royals 8-4. Tanner Spencer and James Dombowsky earned the wins in both contests. The Cardinals are now 3-1 in provincial play. They will play the Giants Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
