Moose Jaw Minor Basketball has helped develop a lot of quality basketball players in its nine years of existence. With the start of the season coming soon, the program is in need of girls in Grades 5-8 to ensure there's a league for those older elementary aged players.

"It's been very successful and it's something we're very proud of and it's something we would like to see continue," said Mark Albert from Moose Jaw Minor Basketball. "For those kids who are aspiring to play high school basketball, it's nice to start that early development for them.Registration will conclude on Sunday, Sept. 27. Anyone interested in taking part can sign up at the Kinsmen Sportsplex. The cost is $80 for the season. The league begins the first week of October and there is one game and one practice per week.

I wholeheartedly agree with the previous comments. Our daughter played 4 years of minor basketball and enjoyed every minute of it. She has learned so many skills and has been fortunate to have great coaches. It has prepared her for high school basketball and if it weren't for her age she'd still be playing with this club. Our son will be playing for the 3rd year and is pumped about starting again soon. The cost is minimal and the time commitment isn't as big as some other sports. The club is well organized and I would recommend it to anyone who is even remotely interested in the sport. You will be amazed at what they learn and how they improve as the season progresses.

This is a fantastic program. I have put my two kids through MJMB and they wouldn't be the basketball players they are today without it. They are excelling at their elementary and high school levels and even competing now at international tournaments (and succeeding). It has done wonders for their development of self-esteem. Mark Albert has created something wonderful here for our community and our children. At $80 a season this is a steal of a deal. It's never too late to start this game so please sign up so the kids have enough players to play. It will keep them busy and less bored which can lead to other things.
