In a my-turn-your-turn kind of game, the Central Cyclones senior boys basketball team earned their second win of the young season on their home court with a 76-64 win over the Vanier Vikings Tuesday.
Both teams had their moments of dominating the game and came away with extended scoring runs, but it was the Cyclones who had a run at the most important time, in the fourth quarter.
The Cyclones headed into the final period of the game with a slender 53-50 lead, but found tan advantage by attacking the rim at will.
According to Cyclones head coach Leigh Pethick, his club was relying too much on their perimeter game and felt there were chances being missed for not heading towards the rack.
“It was more of an emphasis to being aggressive, our guys were kind of settling throughout the game at times,” he said. “There were opportunities for us to drive all the way there and push the ball and the guys took that to heart, especially in the fourth quarter.”
