The quality of the competition at the Moose Jaw Invitational dictated that even in the quarter-finals anything less than a team’s best wasn’t going to be good enough.
The Peacock Toilers put together an excellent four quarters of basketball and the Central Cyclones struggled to find their ‘A’ game. As a result the Toilers will advance to the semifinals at the senior girls’ basketball tournament thanks to their 56-33 win over Melville.
Jessica Williams scored 16 points to lead the Toilers.
The Cyclones will play on the consolation side after they lost 48-35 to Fillmore. Trudy McBean scored 10 points to lead the Cyclones.
The Toilers will face Prince Albert Carlton at 1:30 p.m., while Central will face Prince Albert St. Mary. Notre Dame will meet Fillmore in the other semifinal.
