Royals hit buzzer-beater to win a thrilling high school basketball game

    It’s a rare high school basketball game that features a clutch shot in the dying seconds.

    Tuesday’s game at senior boys high school basketball game had two.

    With 1.9 seconds left Mark Bevan gave the Vanier Vikings a 72-70 lead with a clutch pull-up shot.

    Not the be outdone, Brody Wasmann from the Riverview/Cornerstone Royals hit a three-point shot as the buzzer sounded to give the Royals a 73-72 victory.

    Vanier erased a 10-point deficit in the final quarter to take a late lead.

    Dillon Pinfold scored 18 points for the Royals while Ryan Cox had 15 points and Wasmann had 11.

    Payton Hilldson led the Vikings with 20 points, Brennan Reidy added a dozen points and Bevan had 11.
