After making it to the last two city finals only to be beaten by the Central Cyclones, the Vanier Spirits senior girls basketball team hope the third time’s the charm.
Since they knocked out the Cyclones in the semifinals last week 82-60, they won’t have to worry about losing three times in a row to the same school.
Instead, they will face the second place Peacock Toilers are the only team in Moose Jaw whose depth rivals the Spirits’.
“Peacock has a deep bench as do we. They make a lot of substitutions so I don’t think we’ll have the usual wearing down factor that we do against a lot of teams,” said Spirits head coach Bob
Gottselig. “We’ve come up dry in the previous two times and we’re going to try real hard to change that.”
The game is at 6:15 at SIAST.
