They had contrasting styles, but there was one thing both Lindale and King George’s boys basketball teams had in common and that was an abundance of skill.
The King George Cougars beat the Lindale Lions 64-58 to win the Prairie South School Division’s Moose Jaw section elementary Tier I boys basketball title Tuesday.
The Lions had a decided size advantage, but quite simply had no answer for Cougars’ point guard Ryder Epoch who scored a game-high 38 points.
Parker Chow added five points for the Cougars.
“Everyone pitched in. It was a big team effort,” said King George coach Howard Epoch.
Thomas Spence led the Lions with 25 points, while Chance Delgarno added 13 more for Lindale.
It was King George’s second straight city title.
