Englot and Eberle advance to A semis at Casino Moose Jaw spiel at the Hillcrest

    Michelle Englot and Chantelle Eberle have both advanced to the ‘A’ event semifinals at the Casino Moose Jaw Sask Women’s Curling Tour cash bonspiel at the Hillcrest Sports Centre.

    Englot scored twice in the eighth end to beat Sherrilee Orsted 7-5. Englot’s rink features Moose Jaw’s Cindy Simmons.

    Eberle — who used to curl out of Moose Jaw and who is coached by Roger Anholt — beat Larisa Murray’s Little Niko’s rink 6-3.

    In the opening draw Little Niko’s beat Penny Barker, who hails from Moose Jaw, 7-1. Orsted beat Trish Paulsen 6-5 in an extra end.

In the second draw Deb Aadland beat Ros Stewart 6-4, Ashley Gregoire beat Natalie Bloomfield’s Eagle Drilling rink 10-5 and Amanda Labach beat Mandy Selzer 9-2. Stewart, a former provincial champion, is from Moose Jaw.

    The Carpet Gallery foursome of skip Linda Kloschinsky, third Robert Fonger, second Marcy Cameron and lead Stephanie Barnstable beat Jolene Campbell 7-4.

    Action continues all day Saturday and will conclude with Sunday’s final at 3 p.m.
