Monday Pat Simmons said he wanted to curl well enough to have a chance to win every time out at the Roar of the Rings.

Tuesday night he curled very well but a win still wasn’t forthcoming.

Simmons shot a fantastic 91 per cent, but still lost 7-4 to Glenn Howard at the Roar of the Rings Olympic curling trials in Edmonton.

Simmons opened the day by losing 9-4 to Randy Ferbey and now sits with a 1-3 record at the trials. He is alone in sixth place with only the top three advancing.

Howard is 4-0, while Ferbey, Kevin Koe and Kevin Martin are all 3-1. Jeff Stoughton is 2-2.
