Mark Herbert has already clinched a spot at the SaskTel Tankard.
Even if he doesn’t need the points, that doesn’t mean the Moose Jaw skip wouldn’t love to win the Casino Moose Jaw Saskatchewan Curling Tour championship this weekend at the Hillcrest.
Herbert is off to a great start after winning his first two games in Pool A Friday night. Herbert beat Jamey Jordison 7-5 and downed Moose Jaw’s Ryan Wenarchuk 5-3.
Herbert will conclude the round robin with games against Derek Boe (0-2), Mike Eberle (1-1) and Kyle George (2-0).
George beat Wenarchuk 7-3 and Eberle 8-7. Eberle beat Boe 7-6 in an extra end and Jamey Jordison beat Boe 6-5.
In Pool B Brad Heidt beat Carl deConinck-Smith 8-7 to remain unbeaten.
Heidt beat Moose Jaw’s Chadd McKenzie 9-2 in the early draw. He’s joined at 2-0 by Al Schick who beat McKenzie 7-2 and the Lindquist team 12-1.
deConinck-Smith is 1-1 after beating Braeden Moskowy 6-4. Moskowy is also 1-1 after beating Lindquist 12-4.
