Amber Holland of the Kronau Curling Club will make her first Scotties National Tournament of Hearts in eleven years after winning the provincial Scotties in Eston.

Holland and her Regina based rink from the Kronau Curling Club of third Kim Schneider, second Tammy Schneider and lead Heather Kalenchuk defeated Sherry Anderson from Saskatoon 9-6 in the finals.

Holland suffered her first loss of the the tournament Sunday morning to Anderson, after going 5-0 in the round robin. That forced her to play a semifinal match against Stefanie Lawton, giving Anderson a bye and moving her into the finals.

Holland got a 4-0 lead after two ends against Lawton, thanks to the first round deuce and a steal of two in the second. Holland went on to win 8-6.

Matches were played in Kindersley Wednesday and Thursday, but after a fire damaged the old ice rink and sent smoke into the new attached complex where the curling rink is, the tournament was moved to nearby Eston and resumed on Saturday.
