Lucas, Kesslering to Super League final

The final has been set in the Western Honda Super League.

Kelly Kesslering and Ron Lucas each won their semifinal matches Wednesday at the Bushell Park Curling Club and will meet in the championship game Jan. 27.

Kesslering used a four-ender in the fifth to get past George Frechette 8-3 in one semifinal, while Ron Lucas built a 7-3 lead through five in his 8-3 win over Ryan Wenarchuk.

Lucas — who hails from Assiniboia — returns to the final after falling to Alan Batty in the championship game last year, while Kesslering makes his first appearance in the title game as a skip after multiple appearances as a member of Mark Herbert’s perennial championship foursome.
