Vanier’s girls curling team got off to a great start at the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association provincials in Glentworth.

The Vanier rink of Kim Osemlak, Michelle Light, Nicole Hebert, Kelsey Wells and Melissa Marzolf won twice during Thursday’s opening day of competition.

Vanier beat Abbey 7-6 in an extra end and followed that with a 8-1 win over Regina Riffel. The wins leave them in a very good position in the triple-knockout competition.

Vanier will play Saskatoon Holy Cross Friday morning in the A semifinal.
