The Hillcrest Curling Club foursome of skip Bob Brown, third Gray Auckland, second Karson Fritzler and lead Bryce Marcotte have kept busy all winter season on the curling sheet with countless bonspiels, playdowns and the junior men’s provincial, so it was probably fitting that they just couldn’t get off the ice at the Provincial Juvenile Championships in Watrous this weekend.
In two days, Brown played seven games, including four on Sunday and eventually fell to Humboldt’s Dean Jaeb in the C Event Finals in a see-saw 5-4.
Down by two in the eighth and final end, Brown was in a bit of a pickle as Jaeb was sitting shot rock in front of a pile of guards.
“The only thing we had was an in-off on a rock that was almost out of play. Bobby threw it absolutely perfect and it rolled for shot rock,” said Fritzler.
