The host committee for the 2012 Capital One Canada Cup of Curling is looking for volunteers to help in a variety of areas when the city hosts the prestigious championship from Nov.28-Dec. 2.
The committee has set a goal of recruiting 354 volunteers for roles in areas such as transportation, security, program sales and hospitality services in the Patch.
The first four qualifiers are 2011 Canada Cup champions Jennifer Jones and Kevin Martin, along with this year’s Scotties champion Heather Nedohin and Brier winner Glenn Howard. The rest of the field will be determined on the basis of the Canadian Team Ranking System points.
The top seven men and seven women teams will compete for the two Canada Cup titles along with direct entry to the 2013 Tim Horton Roar of the Rings, the Canadian Curling Olympic Trials.
