Lawton, McEwen 3-0 after morning draw

Stefanie Lawton continues her great start at the Capital One Curling Cup of Canada, going 3-0 after defeating Chelsea Carey 6-5 in 11 ends after the morning draw at Mosaic Place.

It was a close game, but it was Lawton getting on in the 11th end to secure the win.

Mike McEwen is also undefeated and has a 3-0 record after defeating John Epping 9-8 in 11 ends.

Epping scored two in the 10th end to send the game to extra ends.

Heather Nedohin's rink improved to 2-1 with a 8-6 victory over Sherry Middaugh and the Cathy Overton-Clapham rink fell to 0-3 in the tournament with an 8-4 loss to Crystal Webster.

In other men action from the morning draw, Kevin Koe edged the Brad Gushue rink 8-7. Gushue scored three in the opening end, but Koe's rink score two in the ninth end and held Gushue to one in the 10th end for the win.

More action gets underway at 2 p.m. at Mosaic Place.

    We are in the city for Curling this week and cant believe they would build something like this downtown with no parking. Our friend got hurt after she slipt and fell walking on the icy streets. Come on Moose Jaw.
