It was a tough day for Ros Stewart and her Saskatoon Nutana rink at the Vitera Scotties Tournament of Hearts provincials in Tisdale.

Stewart opened the day with a 7-5 loss to Jill Shumay from Maidstone and then lost 7-6 to Saskatoon’s Trish Paulson in an extra end. Paulson scored two in the 10th end and then stole a point to win.

The loss dropped Stewart to 1-4 as her rink concludes their week at the 12-team event.

Stefanie Lawton and her Saskatoon rink remained unbeaten as they beat Teandra Freisen 8-2. They top Pool A with a 4-0 record. Schumay and Amber Holland both have 3-1 records to sit tied for second in the pool.

In Pool B, both Michelle Englot and Chantelle Ebele from Regina are tied at 3-1, while Swift Current’s TeeJay Haichert (3-2) and Balgonie’s Mandy Selzer (2-2) are still in contention.

Pool play will conclude Saturday morning with the top two teams in each pool advancing to the Page playoffs.
