Joel Jordison lost for the first time at the SaskTel Tankard men's provincial curling championship Thursday.

The Moose Jaw skip lost 6-3 to Scott Bitz and will begin to try to qualify from the B side today when he meets Saskatoon's Darren Camm.

Bitz scored three in the third end and added two more with the hammer in the sixth to take a 5-2 lead.

Brock Virtue from the Regina Callie and Steve Laycock from the Saskatoon Nutana have advanced to the A final with a pair of wins each Thursday.

Josh Heidt from Kerrobert, with Moose Jaw's Brock Montgomery at third, beat Mike Armstrong from Saskatoon 6-4 Friday afternoon in the B event. Heidt will face Bitz in B side action Friday at noon.

Camm beat Estevan's Brent Gedak 10-4 Friday afternoon in the B event. The Gedak rink has a front-end of Derek Owens and Malcolm Vanstone. Gedak will meet Yorkton's Terry Marteniuk in the C event Friday morning.

Four qualifiers will advance to the Page playoffs.
