The Rebels fell 14-13 in the semifinal of the provincial touch football championships, and they had to watch as the Chargers went on to win the title over the Kittens 30-18. “It is (disappointing),” said Rebels quarterback Colin Belsher. “We had beaten them three times this year. “They had redemption when it counted, at provincials.” The semifinal saw the Moose Javians get out to a 13-0 lead in the first half, but some fourth quarter scoring by the Chargers evened things up. A two-point convert provided the key edge for the Chargers, and Belsher said the narrow margin was to be expected. “Every time we played them, it was always within one score,” he said. “We’re very equal in terms of skill. I expected a close game.”
