To say Jason Hetherington is off to a good start is an understatement.
The Peacock graduate has six interceptions in five games for the Alberta Golden Bears in CIS football play. The safety made three interceptions in one game to help the Bears beat the then No. 3 ranked University of Saskatchewan Huskies.
Hetherington’s effort earned him CIS defensive player of the week honours. It was the first time anyone had three interceptions in a game for the Bears since 1995.
His six interceptions leads all players in the CIS.
While Hetherington is happy with his start his biggest goal is seeing the young Bears improve their 2-3 mark and qualify for the Canada West playoffs.
