The South scored on their first offensive play at the Ed Henick Senior Bowl in Saskatoon.

It was a sign of things to come.

The South set a Senior Bowl record for points as they beat the North 56-21 Monday.

Moose Jaw was represented by a trio of Peacock Tornadoes on the South team — lineback Justin Filteau, offensive tackle Ryan Klippenstein and receiver Adam Bachiu.

Bachiu capped his day with a fourth quarter touchdown catch. He had two catches for 23 yards.

Filteau had a quarterback sack and recovered a fumble on his own 35 to halt a North drive in the third quarter. He finished with 22 defensive points to lead all players. He had six special teams tackles and was in on 12 tackles in total.

The South passed for 271 yards and they added 308 yards on the ground for a staggering 570 yards of net offence.

The previous record for points in a game came in the South’s 54-0 win in 1993.
