Keegan Arnyek and Team Canada stunned the top-seeded Team USA for the gold medal.

The second seed avenged a gold medal loss from 2009 by stunning the host 23-17 in the gold medal game at the 2012 International Federation of American Football Under-19 World Championship at Burger Stadium in Austin, Texas.

In the gold medal game, Arnyek ran a kickoff back for 15 yards in addition to playing in the defensive backfield.

In the semifinal game against Japan on Wednesday, Canada intercepted five passes and ran off 16 unanswered points in the first half en route to a 33-24 win. Arnyek made his presence felt in this game by returning a kickoff return for 98 yards for a touchdown midway through the first quarter.  He had another kick return for 15 yards, a punt return for five yards and an interception.
