Members of the Moose Jaw Rotary Club gathered Monday for the regular weekly meeting starting at noon at the Heritage Inn.
Reg Williamson reminded club members of the upcoming Moose Jawg scheduled for July 1 and as was the case in past, the club will be providing breakfast to all participants and club members were asked to sign up for assisting in this event.
Club members were reminded of the upcoming club golf tournament to be held July 6 at the Deer Ridge Golf Club beginning at 1:20 pm.
Club president Ron Cork updated members on a number of points of interest to club members. These included a reminder from Rotary International for completion of year-end reports; the district governor's annual visit to the club on Oct. 5 and the upcoming induction of new club members scheduled for July 6.
New executive members are: Ed Bourassa, president; Andrea Zaremba, secretary; Doug Trithardt, treasurer; Don Forer, membership; Shawn Veroba, club service; Sam Berg, vocational service; Don Law, community service; Kathy Fitton, international service; Stu Sutherland, sergeant-at-arms; and Karla Pratt, public relations. The only position not yet filled is that of president-elect for the next Rotary Year which commences in July 2010.
Other reports presented included an update as to club finances from Doug Trithardt; a report from Kathy Fitton on international service initiatives; and an update on membership activity and initiatives from Don Forer.
Next week the guest speaker will be Exchange Student Annie Werenbro who will be returning home to Sweden at month's end.
Moose Jaw Art Guild
The spring windup of the Moose Jaw Art Guild will be held Friday at the farm of Jerry Kaiser. A paint-out will begin at 2 p.m., with a potluck supper at 5 p.m.
