PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. - A Saskatchewan man has taken a major step towards proving that winning $1 million is not just a once-in-a-lifetime shot.
Darwin Head became an instant celebrity last year when he won a million-dollar shootout held between periods at an NHL game televised across the country from Vancouver.
Now 35-year-old Head is getting a shot at winning another $1 million prize after sinking a hole-in-one today at a charity golf tournament in his hometown of Prince Albert, Sask.
The shot automatically qualified the lucky millionaire for a chance to win a second million on Sunday.
Head will be one of 40 golfers in the final round of a competition that will give the top player a chance to drive for a $1-million prize, which will require him to sink another hole-in-one.
Head, a father of three children, is a former sawmill worker who grew up on a northern Saskatchewan reserve.
