Another windy day on the course made for some disappointing scores at the Saskatchewan Golf Association's senior men's and women's championship Tuesday.
The first day of the two tournaments - both being played at the Deer Park Municipal Golf Club in Yorkton - saw three Moose Javians finish in the top three.
Lorie Boyle shot a 16-over 89, good enough for third place in the ladies standings. Meanwhile, on the men's side, Daryl Herchuk is tied for third after a three-over score of 75 Tuesday. Ken Bradley is tied for fifth after shooting 76.
The weather continued to be very windy in Yorkton, making it difficult for the competitors, said Bradley.
"Considering the windy conditions again, I'm happy with the 76, but not overly pleased because I had a couple of three-putts that could have made it a little better," he said.
Bradley had five bogeys and one birdie on the day. Herchuk earned three birds and counted six bogeys.
Boyle, who has won the senior provincial title three years in a row - most recently by 13 strokes - had a poor start to her first day of competition. After a birdie on the first hole, she recorded an eight on the par-five second hole. She would go on to record three more double-bogeys and six bogeys.
