With two practice rounds under his belt, Moose Jaw golfer Ken Bradley is ready to take on the rest of the country at the senior men's national championship in Victoria, B.C. today.
Bradley and his provincial teammates played Sunday and Monday at the Gorge Vale Golf Club in advance of the tournament's opening round, and they're glad to have had the practice.
"The course is in great shape. The greens are pretty quick and quite slopey," said Bradley. "The greens are quick."
Bradley played the course earlier in the year, and even in a few months' time, the challenges presented have changed dramatically, especially the speed of the greens.
"When I played in the spring, the course was a little wetter, and it's dried out considerably here," he said. "They haven't had much rain and so things are running fairly quick."
That means the short game will likely be important this week during the 72-hole event. For Bradley, it's been hit and miss so far.
